WE BRING THE WORLD OF ENERGY
TO STUDENTS
The educational program aims to make students aware, with invaluable help from their teachers, of the evolution of energy throughout the history of mankind, and connect it with the Cepsa value chain.
In this program, we teach the importance of oil and its derivatives, emphasizing the goods produced in industrial centers and the many applications that these products have in our everyday lives. It is run through a digital platform, allowing us to promote the use of new technologies in the classroom.
These training units are aimed at students in the final phase of compulsory secondary education, and those completing Bachillerato (Spanish Baccalaureate) or Ciclos Formativos (vocational) courses. During the program the students are also taught about the origin of light, energy sources or the treatment and transformation of crude oil. We also focus on topics such as: production in chemical plants, Cepsa's vision as a global energy company, its commitment and responsibility to the environment, not to mention fundamental and popular issues such as: protecting the environment and the safety of people, facilities and nearby towns.
Students from educational centers in the provinces of Huelva, Cádiz and Tenerife participate in the program.
This is the 15th edition of the program, comprising 5 phases which cover the entire academic year:
A follow-up takes place between November and January. It consists of choosing educational unit(s) and how they will be presented in classrooms. After the presentation, the teacher will evaluate the students.
Site visits are held between January and March. This is to understand how the Company and its operating centers work in order to develop the unit(s) presented in the classroom.
In Palos and San Roque, there is also an environmental interpretation workshop that takes place in the natural spaces of the Primera de Palos lake and the Madrevieja Environmental Station, both managed by Cepsa.
The program concludes between April and June, when the awards ceremony takes place. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes are awarded to both individuals and group entries.
Winners will be decided by a Jury made up of representatives from the educational and cultural sector in each location.
