Fundación Cepsa recognizes the talent and creativity of school students from Huelva

Today Fundación Cepsa held the award - giving ceremony for its Energy Campus and World Wetlands Day prizes. This was in recognition o f the creativity of Huelva's school students who have participated in these educational programs and have best expressed in their work essential aspects of the world of energy and biodiversity.

Teresa Millán, representing Fundación Cepsa, Vicente Zarza, Delegate for Education, and Jose A ntonio Cortés, Delegate for the Environment and Land Use Planning of the Regional Government of Andalucía, as well as Ricardo García, Director of the Montessori school, presented these awards, this year in their seventeenth iteration.

The Energy Campus an d World Wetlands Day programs, linked to the world of energy, oil, chemicals and their applications, as well as the environment, have had the participation of more than 3,000 students this edition, ranging from Primary to Baccalaureate levels, from 46 scho ols in 23 towns within the province of Huelva.

In this event, Fundación Cepsa has brought together the prize - winning students from the different categories, who have come together with teachers and relatives, making the award - giving ceremony a social even t for different education centers.

The Regional Delegates, as well as the members of the jury who attended the ceremony, congratulated all of the winners recognized for their work, in which they have shown creativity and continuous improvement year after year; Jose Antonio Cortés, the Delegate for the Environment, valued the commitment and the effort of the teachers involved in this innovative approach to learning and bringing students closer to the world of energy and environmental protection; on his part , the Delegate for Education, Vicente Zarza, also had words for Fundación Cepsa, which he congratulated for these initiatives, which are now a fixture in the educational landscape of the province, and especially, for giving them continuity year after year, in a constant commitment towards maintaining the motivation of students and teachers in the care and protection of the environment, as well as dialog with the teaching sector.

On behalf of Fundación Cepsa, Teresa Millán took the opportunity to thank the Regional Government of Andalucía for its constant support and collaboration, without which it would be almost impossible to carry out both of these teaching programs, which together with the “Marismas del Odiel: a vista de águila” program, make up the educational activities in which the Fundación takes part.

The ‘World Wetlands Day’ education program, organized by Fundación Cepsa, in partnership with the regional delegations of Education, Environment and Land Us e Planning, is aimed at Primary School students, and takes place at the time of 'World Wetlands Day'. Throughout the month of February students go to Primera de Palos lagoon, a protected wetlands area, to find out more about the value and importance of this kind of natural space.

The ‘Energy Campus’, an educational program aimed at students from the 2nd cycle of ESO, Baccalaureate and Educational Cycles, is focused on the learning of subjects related to the world of energy, oil and petrochemicals, via a we b platform. This program is supplemented with a day at the Cepsa installations in Huelva, where students assimilate what has been covered in class with a guided visit around the production area and the nature space of Primera de Palos lagoon.
