Arturo Larena

Arturo Larena is an environmental journalist. Director of EFEverde.com, Agencia EFE's global environmental journalism platform.. He has been an EFE delegate in Extremadura, Madrid and Galicia and director of the science and technology area (EFEfuturo) from 2012 to 2019. Teacher at Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (FNPI) of Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez and member of the advisory board of the International Network of Writers for the Earth (RIET). National Environmental Award. Fundación BBVA Award for Biodiversity Conservation and WWF Golden Panda Award as one of the five Spaniards who have contributed the most to environmental culture through the media. He launched the portals www.efeverde.com and http://www.efefuturo.com 

As a member of the Board of Trustees of Fundación EFE, he has promoted the specialization programs in environmental journalism at Agencia EFE, where he has worked since 1990.

Co-editor for social networks of the EFEverde sites, with which Agencia EFE launched its social media presence, and together with José Luis Fernández-Checa, of the EFEverde apps for iPhone, Android and iPad.

  • 2005 National Environmental Journalism Award and 2009 Fundación BBVA Award for Biodiversity Conservation, among other awards.
  • Teacher at Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano on environmental issues. 
  • Trustee of Fundación EFE. 
  • Member of the advisory board for the International Network of Writers for the Earth (La Red de Escritores por la Tierra, or RIET).
  • Launched EFE's Galician-language service. He currently leads EFEverde, Agencia EFE’s global multimedia platform for environmental journalism, whose project he designed: http://www.efeverde.com and http://www.arturolarena.es
