- The Association of Families of Alzheimer's Patients in La Línea is carrying out the "Path to Well-Being" project, which aims to improve the quality of life and independence of older adults with dementia
- The initiative will directly benefit 45 day center users and indirectly help 135 family members and caregivers
Through a tailored and individualized physiotherapy program led by specialized staff, the project aims to slow cognitive and physical decline, rehabilitate deteriorating functions, and maximize preserved abilities. In addition, it is combined with other services offered by the center, such as cognitive stimulation workshops and comprehensive support for family members and caregivers, thereby establishing an innovative and multidisciplinary approach that is unique in the province. The "Path to Well-Being" project will run for 12 months and significantly improve quality of life for users of the AFA La Línea day center, while also providing tools and support to their families. Furthermore, the project incorporates energy-efficiency criteria into equipment renovation, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the service
The president of AFA La Línea, Rosa María Pérez López, expressed her gratitude to fundación Moeve "for the opportunity to improve our services by subsidizing the purchase of equipment for our organization’s physiotherapy room. Thanks to this, the people who attend our center every day receive better care and have more rehabilitation options, thereby improving their functional development and quality of life. Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia affect not only cognitive abilities but also physical health, increasing the risk of falls, joint stiffness, and loss of mobility. Physiotherapy is crucial for preventing physical decline, reducing the risk of injury, and promoting active aging."
