Fundación Cepsa has announced the 20th edition of its Social Value Awards, one of the organization's most important initiatives, which aims to promote projects that improve the well-being of people in situations of social vulnerability.
Interested entities may submit their projects from September 2 to 19 through the website of Fundación Cepsa. In this edition, up to 375,000 euros will be allocated among the winning projects from social entities in the geographical areas where the awards are given (Campo de Gibraltar, Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, Autonomous Community of Madrid, province of Huelva and Portugal), where Cepsa and its foundation have a significant activity and where they have established strong ties and relationships with the community.
This year, as a new feature, there will be a maximum of three winners per area and the prize pool for each project will be increased from €15,000 to €25,000 per winner. The winners will be determined by different local juries, composed of institutional representatives involved in social action. Cepsa professionals will act as solidarity sponsors for all registered initiatives. Teresa Mañueco, General Manager of Fundación Cepsa, highlighted the impact that the Social Value Awards have on social entities. "With these well-established awards, we aspire to generate a real and lasting impact on the well-being of people at risk of exclusion. Therefore, we adapt them every year according to the new social challenges. In addition, these awards are a fundamental pillar of our corporate culture and values, and significantly contribute to our development", stated Mañueco.
Likewise, in line with Fundación Cepsa's commitment to a fair ecological transition, projects that are sustainable and promote the ecological transition among their target groups will be positively valued, although this is not a requirement for eligibility.
Since the creation of the Social Value Awards in Huelva in 2005, a total of 5,298 projects have been presented, of which 497 have been selected as winners. This initiative has enabled more than 89,000 people to benefit directly from the more than 4.8 million euros contributed by the foundation.
