- The organization participates in an inclusive volunteering day with four NGOs at the botanical garden
- More than fifty people from various social groups enjoyed the activity, which combined leisure and environmental awareness
During this visit, Cepsa volunteers, along with team members from the Tenerife Isla Solidaria program from Sinpromi, accompanied the group, exploring the most emblematic enclaves of this botanical garden specialized in palm trees from all over the world. In addition to enjoying moments of leisure, the visit also had an environmental awareness component. The volunteers also provided mobility support for those who needed it during the visit.
The head of Fundación Cepsa in the Canary Islands, Belén Machado, emphasized the importance of corporate volunteering: “We are committed to the community and the environment. Through initiatives like this, we not only provide practical support, but also promote environmental awareness and social inclusion. Volunteering is a very powerful tool for generating a positive impact on our society.”
This activity was carried out as part of the agreements reached during the 3rd Island Corporate Volunteering Week organized by the Council of Tenerife through Sinpromi. Fundación Cepsa was one of the participants in this event, signing commitments with the four NGOs mentioned above to carry out this activity through its Voluntas program.
In addition, throughout the year, Fundación Cepsa collaborates with the Santa Cruz City Council on a program of inclusive sensory guided tours at the Palmetum. Although these visits are especially designed for people with functional diversity, they are also available for any social entity that requires them. The visits are completely free and have environmental guides. The objective is to expand the range of leisure activities in the city for people with functional diversity, allowing them to discover the garden from a unique perspective through tactile experiences, smells, and sensations, while also contributing to environmental awareness.
