The goal is to contribute to research activity, education, entrepreneurship and innovation among students at this institution through outstanding academic work on topics closely related to the Chair’s objectives. It also aims to promote the dissemination of the results of the bachelor's and master’s theses that have been completed.
Therefore, papers may deal with decarbonization, circular economy, biofuels, renewable energies or green hydrogen, in addition to topics such as energy storage, energy efficiency, waste recovery, CO2 capture and conversion, or the fight against climate change, to name just a few.
A total of three awards are available in each of the two modalities, for a total amount of 2,800 euros. The deadline for submitting proposals is July 31, and University of La Laguna students who have completed and defended their bachelor’s or master’s thesis in the current academic year with a minimum grade of eight out of ten will be eligible for an award.
The evaluation criteria will include, apart from the quality of the bachelor’s or master’s thesis, the originality and degree of innovation of the work, the relevance and practical applicability of the research results, and the potential for developing future academic work.
The winners will be selected by a technical committee appointed by the Vice-Rectorate of Culture, Social Participation and Campus Ofra and La Palma of the ULL. It will be made up of personnel from the University of La Laguna, Cepsa, and any other person who is considered appropriate for the assessment because of their professional background.
