- Patricia Ruiz Villalobos, Pablo Sanchidrian Herrera, and Miguel Suffo Pino receive their awards at the Algeciras School of Engineering

In this edition, the Fundación Cepsa Chair awarded Patricia Ruiz Villalobos in the Scientific-Technical Article category for the scientific article Optimal Battery Management Strategies for Plug-in Electric Hybrid Buses on Routes Including Green Corridors.
Pablo Sanchidrian Herrera has also been recognized in the Final Project category for his Offshore Wind Farm Simulator project.
Lastly, in the Invention Patents category, the award has gone to Miguel Suffo Pino for the Armored, portable, modular enclosure, construction procedures of the enclosure and manufacturing of the armored panels used for its construction and uses patent.
In addition to the winners, the event was attended by María Luz Martín, vice-rector of the Bahía de Algeciras Campus of the UCA; Francisco Trujillo, director of the Fundación Cepsa Chair; and Estrella Blanco, head of Fundación Cepsa.
During the ceremony, the winning students took the opportunity to share some words about the works that had earned the recognition of the joint committee of the Fundación Cepsa Chair for their innovation, originality, scientific and technological approach, relevance and applicability.
Estrella Blanco, head of Fundación Cepsa, highlighted "the efforts of students and professors in terms of research to present high level projects to the Chair Awards, which is framed within the 2030 Positive Motion strategy, and is the result of Fundación Cepsa's commitment to the University of Cadiz and quality education".
Since its inception in 2005, the Chair has focused on promoting and encouraging aspects related to education, research, technology transfer and dissemination. The relationship between the University of Cadiz and Cepsa dates back to the founding of the College of Technical Industrial Engineering in Algeciras, and gained momentum when the School became the Polytechnic School in 1988 now the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Algeciras. Since then, the two institutions have collaborated on numerous occasions, and have signed a wide range of specific agreements.
