- Six students from the University of Cadiz stood out and won the award

The fundación Moeve Chair has awarded first place in the Biodiversity category to Atenea Rodríguez Luque for her project Visibility of benthic communities in environments with different invasive pressures, and second place to María José Romero Pérez for Effects of yellow artificial light at night (ALAN) on the physiology of the native macroalga Halopteris scoparia and the invasive species Rugulopteryx okamurae.
Meanwhile, in the Energy Transition category, Patricia García Herrera Cruces was awarded first place for her final project Evaluation of the mechanical and physical properties of new sustainable ceramic materials for construction. Second place was awarded to José Ángel Cano Sody for Crude oil production from the reuse of aeronautical resins through hydrothermal liquefaction and liquid-liquid extraction, and state of the art upgrading through catalytic hydrogenation.
In the Water Efficiency and Consumption category, first place was awarded to Julia Ortiz Serrano for her final project New developments in reverse osmosis for sustainable concentration of rare earths. Second place was awarded to Clara de Juan Simón for her project Study of the presence of microplastics in desalination plants. Impact on the marine environment.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Algeciras School of Engineering (ETSIA) at the end of January 2026.
Since its foundation in 2005, the Chair's activity has focused on promoting and incentivizing aspects regarding education, research, technology transfer and dissemination, currently focusing on social innovation and student development. The relationship between the University of Cadiz and Moeve dates back to the founding of the Algeciras University School of Technical Industrial Engineering.
