Fundación Cepsa visits Apropadis 2.0's second-hand book project

    • The circular economy initiative 'Charity Books: A Story of Inclusion' is the winner of the 2021 Social Value Awards
    • As part of the project, Apropadis 2.0 has set up a stand at the Algeciras Book Fair
Fundación Cepsa has begun visiting the winning initiatives of the 2021 Social Value Awards by going to see the stand that the Algeciras association Apropadis 2.0, as part of its award-winning project, has set up at the Algeciras Book Fair.

Apropadis 2.0 earned the jury's favor in the last edition of the Social Value Awards with its project 'Charity Books: A Story of Inclusion', a circular economy initiative that’s objective is to spread appreciation for the sale of used books and reduce the consumption of new books.

The president of the organization, Jose Manuel Corrales, spoke with the head of Fundación Cepsa in Cádiz, Estrella Blanco, during her visit to the stand at the Book Fair. He expressed his satisfaction with the support provided by the Foundation through the Social Value Awards, which has allowed them to launch this self-funded project, and he also noted that their second-hand book stand has been very well received in Algeciras.

Estrella Blanco, in turn, stated that "thanks to this initiative, everyone from Campo de Gibraltar has an easy way to help the association Apropadis 2.0 as they strive for disability inclusion”.

The Social Value Awards

These awards are one of the stand-out initiatives of Fundación Cepsa. The aim of the awards is to provide support to individuals, associations, and underprivileged sectors of society so as to foster a spirit of solidarity and promote educational and sustainable development through the involvement of Cepsa staff, who sponsor the programs that the associations of the Campo de Gibraltar region submit as candidates to receive the Social Value Awards. The period for submitting entries to the 2022 competition will open in September.
