- Cepsa's professional women share their academic and work experience with students from Castilla del Pino High School
Several studies show that the presence of women in particular in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) continues to be very low. For this reason, Fundación Cepsa and Inspiring Girls continue to carry out initiatives of this type, which on this occasion consisted of a talk at the school, in which the students had the opportunity to listen and talk with five leading women from different professions and technical areas of the San Roque Energy Park.
The objective of this initiative is to introduce students to professionals to respond to their aspirations and expose them to options in their professional development in the field of STEM careers, and, on the other hand, to motivate these professionals by offering them the opportunity to share their experience, which is valuable and inspiring.
Estrella Blanco, head of Fundación Cepsa in the province of Cadiz, highlighted that "teenage girls need to have role models, to know that technology and science is a field where they can develop professionally and have a future. We’re convinced that getting to know STEM women from Cepsa and seeing that goals can be achieved is a source of motivation for them. Fundación Cepsa and Inspiring Girls are working hand in hand so that young women from Campo de Gibraltar can achieve whatever they set their minds to.”
The volunteers who participated in this initiative were Celia Ruiz (Digital Development); Marta Servio (Plant Operator); Laura Sánchez (Digital Transformation); and Montserrat Toro (IT Solutions).
