- Fundación Cepsa, ‘Quique Bolsita’ and Woman Plogging Evolution join forces and remove 75 kilos of trash
Thanks to this initiative, a total of 20 volunteers dedicated their Saturday morning to this task, which resulted in the removal of 75 kilograms of trash and approximately 300 cigarette butts. The activity began with an initial educational talk by Enrique Romero about the importance of preserving natural spaces and combining outdoor sports with waste collection, which is what plogging, an initiative started in Sweden in 2016, is all about.
"We do this to leave a better future for our children; we can be part of the solution and, regardless of who organizes the activities, it brings me a lot. We all leave a footprint and I want to leave that beautiful footprint, not only by removing waste but by raising awareness among people that we all have to take care of natural spaces," said Quique Bolsitas, highlighting that the experience with Fundación Cepsa "has been very beautiful, with a quality team and in a great environment. We are happy that Fundación Cepsa has trusted us for this beach cleanup.”
Meanwhile, Estrella Blanco, Fundación Cepsa manager in Cadiz, has highlighted "the very positive experience of this action in which Cepsa professionals, voluntarily, have wanted to participate and dedicate their free time to others and to our region of Campo de Gibraltar."
Quique Bolsitas and Woman Plogging Evolution usually organize volunteer plogging activities together in mountain, countryside, and beach areas throughout Andalusia, as well as environmental education initiatives.
