- The initiative is part of the 'Solidarity Oils' campaign, a collaboration between the three institutions in support of families in vulnerable situations in the Campo de Gibraltar
- The president of the Association, Susana Pérez Custodio, the CEO of Arcgisa, Manuel Abellán, and the head of Fundación Cepsa in Cádiz, Estrella Blanco, visit the installations of the Food Bank
Due to this initiative, the president of the Association of Municipalities, Susana Pérez Custodio, the CEO of Arcgisa, Manuel Abellán, and Fundación Cepsa’s representative in the province, Estrella Blanco, have visited the installations of the Food Bank, located in Algeciras, where they've talked with the representatives of said organization about the current needs they are addressing.
Blanco has highlighted that "Fundación Cepsa is accompanying Cepsa in its energy transition and that’s why, together with the Association and Arcgisa, we're carrying out this solidarity oil campaign, not only to encourage everyone to recycle used oil but to also achieve socially what can be seen here today". She also emphasized "the enormous work carried out by the Food Bank in Campo de Gibraltar, tending to more than 13,000 people in vulnerable situations with an enormous amount of effort and dedication".
For her part, Pérez Custodio has highlighted that this is "an action to help the neediest families in our region." It’s a parallel campaign to raise awareness about the importance of recycling used oil and in addition, Fundación Cepsa and Arcgisa have made this oil delivery to the Food Bank, which will distribute it among the parish Caritas of the region to benefit these families.
Finally, Manuel Abellán, CEO of Arcgisa, has emphasized the "importance of correct management of used oil waste; separation at source is key for its evaluation and we need to achieve public awareness by separating it at home and using the network of oil containers".
The president of the Food Bank, José Serrano, has stated that this solidarity action "has been very helpful due to the high price of oil, which is also one of the most demanded items. We're well supplied now.”
It’s worth noting that Fundación Cepsa has been collaborating for years in the organization of the food collection campaigns held in the region. Furthermore, in 2023, the Campo de Gibraltar Food Bank charity project was recognized with the Special Employee Award. This award aims to raise awareness and provide funding to initiatives carried out by organizations and groups that promote social inclusion and improvement, with the winners being the most voted for by professionals in the company.
