  • This is now the twelfth year of the Social Value Awards, which recognize the work carried out by organizations and associations involved in social engagement. This year's awards were the first ever presented by the recently-founded Fundación Cepsa. In Madrid, 113 projects were submitted, four of which were given an award and 48,000 euros of financial support:

Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid (The Madrid Food Bank Foundation) The ultimate goal for this foundation is to win the fight against hunger and wasted food by gathering and distributing food free of charge among the various supporting associations in the Community of Madrid to help those who need it most.

Fundación Anar (The Anar Foundation) The main aim of the Anar Foundation is to provide specialized professional assistance to child victims of domestic violence in their personal relationships through its free and confidential telephone line.

Fundación Secretariado Gitano (The Roma Secretariat Foundation) The goal of this foundation's Promociona program is to provide individualized educational assistance to Roma students and their families, which they do by talking to the young people in their family environments, providing individual tutor sessions and mentoring.

Fundación Deporte y Desafío (The Sport and Challenge Foundation) The foundation organizes an annual sports program for young people with disabilities from families in vulnerable situations. The project intends to provide its beneficiaries with a monthly leisure activity that they would not be able to afford without the program's support.

The Madrid Social Value Awards are part of a global initiative led by Fundación Cepsa. This year, 353 projects were submitted (20% more than the last edition), with 39 chosen as the winners. All of the programs were sponsored by 400 Cepsa employees. The winning organizations from this year's Social Value Awards, which will receive 400,000 euros each, come from Spain, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil.
