Founded in 2004 and located at the Polytechnic School of Algeciras and Bahía de Algeciras Campus, the Chair strives, through its management model, to achieve excellence in its work and to continually improve, in order to contribute to the development, training and employability of university students.
The Chair's work is specifically geared towards training and research in science and technology, as well as supporting specialized training in oil refining and energy.
Francisco Trujillo, who teaches Chemical Engineering, is currently managing the Fundación Cepsa Chair at the University of Cadiz (UCA). In addition, and as stipulated in the agreement, there is a Mixed Monitoring Committee made up of three representatives from Cepsa and three from the University of Cadiz.
Among other initiatives, the Fundación Cepsa Chair at the UCA holds the annual PowerYou Xperience program. This is a day to promote talent and develop professional skills with the aim of increasing the young peoples' employability, in an increasingly competitive and ever-changing work environment. Over 100 students attend these days each year and participate in round tables and workshops, in which professionals and students in the last year of their studies share the skills that companies require from junior talent.
