Fundación Cepsa will present the Social Value Awards on November 10th

    • The jury will be chaired by Eva Pajares, deputy councilor of the regional government of Andalusia in Campo de Gibraltar
    • This year she will be joined by the vice-rector of the UCA’s Bahía de Algeciras Campus, Mar Cerbán, and the president of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy

Fundación Cepsa has convened the Social Value Awards jury who will decide on the winners of the 2020 call for entries next November 10. This year, a total of 39 non-profit organizations from the Campo de Gibraltar area are competing in the Social Value Awards.

Eva Pajares, the deputy councilor of the regional government of Andalusia in Campo de Gibraltar will chair the jury and will be accompanied by the Vice President of Social Welfare of the Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, Jessica Barea, the Vice Chancellor of the UCA’s Bahia de Algeciras Campus, Mar Cerbán, the President of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy, the Director of the Sagrado Corazon de Puente Mayorga school, Alberto Castillo, Cepsa employee Javier Jiménez, and the Fundación Cepsa representative in Campo de Gibraltar, Estrella Blanco.

In total, Fundación Cepsa received entries for 435 projects across all the regions in which the awards are run: Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, Campo de Gibraltar, Autonomous Community of Madrid, Huelva province, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil.

2020 Social Value Award Candidates

The aim of the awards is to recognize and promote social initiatives that foster the inclusion and well-being of disadvantaged groups or individuals, as well as to promote these values among Cepsa staff, who will be sponsors of these projects, introducing the entities interested in participating in these awards. The financial endowment for the Awards in Campo de Gibraltar is up to €62,000 after Fundación Cepsa increased amount as an initiative to combat the healthcare crisis caused by the Covid-19. In total, up to €500,000, €100,000 than in previous editions, will be handed out to the best social projects in all the areas in which the competition is being run. This year also includes a specific module for projects related to the coronavirus and its impact on society.

Employees’ Special Award

Since 2012, Cepsa staff themselves have given out an Employees’ Special Award as part of the Social Value Awards. They will choose two winners from among the 14 projects selected by the various juries in Spain, Colombia, Brazil and Portugal, and the results will be announced in mid-December.
