Fundación Cepsa and Bandera Rosa, working together to help breast cancer patients

    • The entity distributes a specific endowment to manage the disease after mastectomy
    • Fundación Cepsa checks the association's project in Campo de Gibraltar
Fundación Cepsa is getting a close-up look at how the winning projects from the last year’s Social Value Awards are coming together. This visit focused on the winning project Mochila Rosa from the 2020 edition of the Bandera Rosa Association of Algeciras.

The program is aimed at breast cancer patients in Campo de Gibraltar, who are provided with a backpack with specific medical material and equipment to help them manage the disease after mastectomy surgery. After winning the Social Value Award and since the project's beginning in January, they have distributed more than 70 pink backpacks and the Bandera Rosa association continues in this endeavor, which has expressed its satisfaction at being able to carry out this initiative thanks to the support of Fundación Cepsa. The head of Fundación Cepsa in the Campo de Gibraltar, Estrella Blanco, visited the facilities of Bandera Rosa in Algeciras, hand in hand with those responsible for the entity. Blanco highlighted "the great work that Bandera Rosa does to support these women at such a difficult time in their lives, especially considering that this is medical support that they need but is a high cost that many households cannot afford."

The Social Value Awards
These awards are one of the stand-out initiatives of Fundación Cepsa. The aim of the awards is to provide support to individuals, associations, and underprivileged sectors of society so as to foster a spirit of solidarity and promote educational and cultural development through the involvement of Cepsa staff, who sponsor the programs that the associations of the Campo de Gibraltar region submit as candidates to receive the Social Value Awards. The period for submitting entries to the 2021 competition will open in September.
