Fundación Moeve has organized an inclusive visit to the Palmétum of Santa Cruz with five social entities from Tenerife, attended by a group of Moeve professionals and volunteer committed to inclusion and sustainability.

This initiative to raise awareness and promote community at the botanical garden of Tenerife’s capital is part of the foundation’s corporate volunteer program, and has been developed as part of the inclusive tours at the capital's botanical garden periodically promoted by the foundation in collaboration with the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

On this occasion, the Canaria Maín Foundation, the Acquired Brain Injury Association of Tenerife (ADACEA-TF), the Sonsoles Soriano Foundation, the Tenerife Trisomic 21-Down Association, and Athletes without Borders participated. The activity consisted of a guided tour by specialized environmental monitors who offered an educational and accessible tour of this emblematic space, considered an oasis of biodiversity in the heart of Tenerife’s capital.

Volunteers played a key role in offering support during the tour, paying special attention to participants with reduced mobility or special needs due to their physical or mental condition. At the end of the visit, all attendees shared a picnic breakfast, thus promoting community and enjoyment of the natural environment together.

“We strongly believe in the value of volunteering as a driver of social transformation. This visit to the Palmétum was a unique opportunity to share, learn, and enjoy nature while reinforcing our commitment to a more equitable and empathetic society.” In addition, she highlighted that “contact with the biodiversity of the Palmétum allows us to promote people’s emotional and physical well-being while raising awareness about taking care of the environment.”
