Fundación Cepsa recognizes the social work of four entities in Madrid

    • A total of 93 projects were presented for the 2019 Madrid awards
    • The winners were Fundación Grandes Amigos, Fundación Bobath, Fundación Balia por la Infancia and Asociación Adisli
    • Over 300 people will directly benefit from these initiatives

Fundación Cepsa held its Social Value Awards ceremony in Madrid, awarding €48,000 to the four winning projects. From the 93 organizations that were presented in the 2019 edition in Madrid, the jury selected the initiatives by Fundación Balia por la Infancia, Asociación Adisli, Fundación Grandes Amigos and Fundación Bobath as the winners.

Attending the event at Cepsa Tower were Fundación Cepsa Chairman, Philippe Boisseau, and the Counsellor for Social Policy, Family and Birth in the Community of Madrid, Alberto Reyero.

During the presentation, Philippe Boisseau highlighted the great work carried out by all the participants in this edition of the Social Value Awards, and especially by the winners, who "after this event, will implement the projects that we have recognized today to make them a reality. There is a lot of work ahead and we at Fundación Cepsa will be delighted to work alongside these organizations".

Alberto Reyero praised the efforts of both Fundación Cepsa and the organizations, and encouraged their representatives "to continue working to make inclusion a reality, to improve the quality of life of vulnerable people, and to encourage the networking and collaboration that make this associative network even stronger."

In 2020, these four organizations will launch the award-winning projects. Adisli will develop a training program to help people with intellectual disabilities prepare for civil services examinations; Fundación Grandes Amigos will launch a volunteer program aimed to reduce loneliness among older people; Fundación Bobath will improve the facilities at its comprehensive cerebral palsy care center; and Fundación Balia por la Infancia will open an educational and living space for children aged between 10 and 12 at risk of social exclusion.

The Social Value Awards recognize social projects that seek to improve the quality of life of a broad spectrum of social groups: socially vulnerable individuals, the unemployed, the sick, people with physical or intellectual disabilities, ethnic minorities, children, teenagers and young adults, the elderly and victims of gender violence, among others. These awards, which since 2005 have boosted the development of over 340 social projects are held annually in Spain (Huelva, Campo de Gibraltar, the Canary Islands and Madrid), Portugal, Colombia and Brazil, all of which are geographical regions where Cepsa has significant operations and where it has established particularly strong ties and relations with the community. Furthermore, Cepsa's professionals are actively involved in this program, acting as sponsors of each submitted project.

The 2019, the Social Value Awards granted more than €380,000 to 35 solidarity initiatives to enable them to directly improve the inclusion and welfare of more than 11,000 people.
