- With support from the Fundación Cepsa, the La Línea-based company is remodeling the patio of its facilities thanks to the Social Value Award 2019

Fundación Cepsa is getting a first-hand look at how the winning projects from the last year’s Social Value Awards are coming together. This visit focused on the winning project from the 2019 edition by the Nuevo Futuro Association and its Remodeling project of the patio at the Carmen Herrero Center.
With this project, the patio at the Carmen Herrero care center for minors under the guardianship of the Andalusian Government is being reformed, the lighting system is being changed, and a leisure garden is being created for use by the minors who take advantage of this resource.
Antonio Alconchel, managing director of the Carmen Herrero Center in La Línea, asserted that receiving the Social Value Award from the Fundación Cepsa “will make it easier for us to take advantage of a resource we have outdoors, which is even more necessary now in times of pandemic. The patio was in need of major renovation and required significant funding. Without the help of the Fundación Cepsa it would have been impossible to take on the costs. Thanks to the Social Value Award, children will have a space to play where they can enjoy the open air and their garden.”
For her part, Estrella Blanco, supervisor for the Fundación Cepsa in Campo de Gibraltar, noted the work carried out by Nuevo Futuro to protect minors during such a difficult time in their lives. “We must emphasize the work by Antonio Alconchel and his entire team in the region to ensure that these children lead as normal a life as possible,” he said.
Nuevo Futuro welcomes minors up to 17 years old from all over the province of Cadiz under the guardianship of the Andalusian government at the Carmen Herrero Center and other assistance resources that are located between La Linea and Algeciras.
The Social Value Awards
These Awards are one of the stand-out initiatives of Fundación Cepsa. The aim of the Awards is to provide support to individuals, associations, and underprivileged sectors of society so as to foster a spirit of solidarity and promote educational and cultural development through the involvement of Cepsa staff, who sponsor the programs that the associations of the Campo de Gibraltar region submit as candidates to receive the Social Value Awards.
