The director of the Gibraltar-San Roque Refinery, Miguel Pérez de la Blanca, received the new president of the Food Bank, José Serrano, to make the donation. Mr Serrano told the new management about the Food Bank and how it operates in the area.

This donation came about through the charity food collection campaign, organized by the Spanish Food Banks in November and in which Cepsa professionals in Spain participated, through the Corporate Volunteer Program of the Fundación Cepsa. The Foundation undertook to donate liters of petrol per volunteer to the various delegations of the Food Banks.

The Fundación Cepsa collaborates in the organization of food collection campaigns that are held in the region. In 2009 and 2012, two projects of the regional entity were awarded one of the Social Value Awards. These awards are organized each year to help organize solidarity initiatives carried out by associations and organizations in the Campo de Gibraltar area.
